Six Penn Kitchen Pig Fest

Chef Chris Jackson’s Big Summer Party of 2007! Nothing but local, nothing but the best.

What: “Bands, Bourbon, Beer and Barbecue” First Annual Festival

When: Saturday, August 4

Time: 3 p.m. And don’t be late for this one.

Where: Six Penn Kitchen, corner Penn Avenue and Sixth Street

Cost: $35. For food, music, bourbon, brews, blues

The Deal: No reservations. Stations of good, well-crafted fresh local food.

The Buzz: Mingle throughout the restaurant, onto the street, up to rooftop.

BIG Food:
* Smoked Local Lamb
John and Sukey Jamison's legendary farm in Latrobe, grass-fed lamb.

* Smoked Local Heritage Hogs:
Randy Hawkey's Hawkey Farm in New Eagle, organic pigs.

* Barbequed Local Chickens
Dave Chirico's West Liberty Farm in Reynoldsville, pastured chickens.

*Barbecued Beef Brisket

*Smoked local sausages with peppers from Chef’s garden

BIG Sides:
Homemade chili with cornbread, Local summer beans
Cole slaw and Potato salads
Homemade baked beans and House-roasted peanuts
Fresh fruit cobblers for dessert
Corn on the cob
A variety of house made sauces and condiments

Three or four types of Penn’s Brews
Three bourbons/ Jim Beam Black, Makers Mark, Knob Creek

The Music:
Three Bands will be playing at different times through the day.
