What: Join Chef Floyd Cardoz, the genius of New Indian cuisine from Tabla, New York City, along with many of the top chefs of Pittsburgh, as they heat up the night at Share Our Strength's Taste of the Nation Pittsburgh.

Co-owner and Executive Chef Floyd Cardoz of Tabla, New York City (one of Danny Meyer's Union Square Hospitality Group's heralded restaurants), was recently awarded SOS's 2007 Humanitarian of the Year Award on The Food Network Awards. He is is one of a handful of chef's nominated this year for the coveted James Beard Best Chef New York Award.

A night to stimulate all the senses

As you emerge from the elevator on the 17th floor of the Omni William Penn, you will be captivated by the aromatic installation of Indian spice offerings. Pittsburgh's legendary pianist Harry Cardillo will start the evening during the VIP reception. Organic Indian-spice-infused cocktails will be offered by Pittsburgh's top mixologists, curated by Alana Bly of The Firehouse Lounge. Special performances from Pittsburgh's only professional Indian classical dance company will stimulate your eyes while the Indian-fusion DJs stimulate your ears.

Beautifully dressed cupcake models and colorful friends, courtesy of designer Kelly Freed of Ulterior Motive, and Pittsburgh's top chefs will join Floyd Cardoz to stimulate your palate. Some of the most fortunate guests will go home with live and silent auctions items, including chef's dinner parties prepared in the winners own homes, weekend culinary get-aways, dinners at some of the most exciting restaurants in the region, cookbook packages, art and more.
