Buy Fresh Buy Local® Summer Farm Tour
Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture
(PASA) is pleased to offer its 2nd annual Summer Farm Tour in Southwestern PA.
What: The Summer Farm Tour is an opportunity for the non-farming public to connect with farms in
Southwestern PA that offer the best in healthy food raised using sustainable practices. The experience
intends to leave participants with an understanding of how critical local and organic food systems are
to preserving rural and urban landscapes in Southwestern PA.
When: Saturday, July 26, 2008
Time: 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Where: This year, we are pleased to announce an expanded farm tour highlighting a number of fine farms in
Allegheny, Washington, Westmoreland and nearby counties. Featured farms for the 2008 Buy Fresh
Buy LocalŪ Summer Farm Tour will have products for sale and offer various activities depending on
the farm (hayrides, picnic spots, educational talks, etc.). The list and map of participating farms, along
with further information, will be available online at www.buylocalpa.org

link).
To participate, simply locate the farms on the map that you want to visit and decide on your route.
Participants who would like a pleasant rural experience are invited to bring bicycles to travel among
neighboring farms. Summer Farm Tour Maps will also be available at each farm location. Pay for
your farm tour pass at the first farm you visit and the same pass gains you access to all the participating
farms on the tour.
Price: $10 for each carload
The Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture (PASA) promotes profitable farms that
