A major public health threat has been identified for Pittsburgh and cities across the nation. Antibiotic-resistant bacteria (or "Superbugs") have been found in our hospitals, supermarkets, and schools.
These superbugs are primarily caused by the overuse of antibiotics on factory farms. In fact, 80 PERCENT of antibiotics are used on factory farms instead of on people - killing off all but the strongest bacteria and leaving the superbugs behind.
The good news is that we can take action now to stop these antibiotic resistant infections!
Food and Water Watch, a national non-profit, is screening "Resistance," a documentary that shows the story of the creation of superbugs and what we can do to stop them.
Can you join us on April 28th at 1PM to attend our screening of "Resistance"?
These superbugs will infect 2 million people in the USA just this year alone, and kill 23,000 of those people.
We need to take action now! Come learn more about our campaign, meet other interested folks, and enjoy a delicious lunch catered by Chipotle, who features antibiotic-free meat on every menu!
