Slow Food Pgh Benefit dinner at Eleven Contemporary Kitchen

  Eleven celebrates and supports Slow Food Pittsburgh with a benefit dinner.

          Slow Food Pittsburgh has been selected to be a beneficiary of Eleven's prestigious monthly benefit dinner series.


Please join us on our special night Monday, May 11 and be guaranteed a great dinner at the best table in Pittsburgh. The menu was designed for Slow Food by Eleven Executive Chef Derek Stevens and big Burrito Executive Chef Bill Fuller.

ALSO every dollar of your $150 admission will be given by big Burrito to further Slow Food Pittsburgh's work.

What your contribution supports: Slow Food Pittsburgh was founded in 2002. We are a small group and we do a lot. Besides our self-supporting year-round classes, educational, advocacy and social events, this gift from big Burrito will support our long-term programs:

--In our 8th year of "Of Course You Can," teaching food preservation: canning, fermentation, dehydration, pickling.

-- In our 4th year of "Better Cheese for Pittsburgh," cheesemakers/mongers scholarship program, local cheese education city-wide with chefs and restaurants. -- In our 8th year of "Teach a Community to Cook," partnering with local non-profits teaching them to teach families to cook simple, healthy meals.

--In our 12th year supporting Farmers @ Firehouse, the city's first and largest mostly organic market--publicity, weekly chef demos, Laptop Butchershop.

--In our 12th year funding a Pittsburgh delegation of chefs and growers to Turin, Italy, site of Terra Madre biennial global conference of food producers, farmers and chefs. 2014 saw our fifth delegation to attend. 

 Your donation of $150 per person includes a five-course dinner and wine pairings.  

Guests are asked to recognize service staff that evening with a gratuity via cash, check or credit card.

NOTE: The dinner will be in the second floor dining room with no elevator access. Please inform us of any dietary restrictions.
